Cooking fiesta

Bear with me while I'm still on this idiotic craze. =P

But do wait for the page to finish loading, the glitters are just so adorable! XP

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm tired. Cooked so much food just to feed two people. Haha. Dumped the rest into the fridge. What a pity, dinner was rather nice actually. It's not everyday we cook something decent. Will post pics later. Our cooking( my housemate's and mine) is nothing to brag about, though we would score top points for ingenuity. =P But it was a nice dinner by our standards. Two hours of cooking should not be put to waste, so I have to at least have some proof of our efforts.
After that we had canned longan and lychee syrup drinks for dessert. ^_^ It's a priviledge reserved for Chinese New Year only but since I have to clear my store cupboard... Ehhehe.
Oh and in case you're wondering when I've suddenly become so industrious, it's because we had to clear all foodstuff before we leave for our study break. Second semester has come to an end. I'm trying hard not to go all melancholic again here.
This last week has all been about bulk cooking. Made a HUGE pot of white fungus and ginko soup, which until today there's still some left although I fed everyone I could lay my sugar-stained hands on. Survived on herbal chicken soup the entire weekend. My chicken chopping skills require me to make an average of 20 chops before a clean cut is completed and I'm not exaggerating the least bit. I really really hate chopping chicken. I keep remembering that this is in fact an arm, or leg which I'm touching and about to chop up. Then I start imagining how I would feel if I were the chicken lying there all helpless and how it would feel to have an arm chopped. Argh...
And stupid me went to chop chicken to boil the soup after my shower. And with every chop of the cleaver some chicken juices spurted. Ok, it didn't exactly spurt like a waterspout but you get what I mean. So I had to clean up the sink area and floor with dishwashing liquid (actually such detail is altogether unnecessary to write here but I put it in for the benefit of my housemate who reads this blog). =P And after all that I had to go shower AGAIN. >_<
This is what we cooked.
The first dish is sesame chicken with Brandy (by me), herbal chicken soup (me), carrot and chilli soup(Cyn), baked beans and with fried egg and tofu (me). The fried eggs are buried underneath, it's like a treasure hunt where you have to look for it. =P Last but not least, long beans with dried shrimp (Cyn).
I can read your mind. Looks very unappetizing eh? Hahaha. I never said to expect too much. =P
