I'm hungry, my mind is fuzzy, and my eyelids are half-closed.
I'm tired and yet I can't sleep.
I'm hungry and yet I don't want the hassle of brushing my teeth again.
I yawn and feel even more awake.
I'm sure everyone has a habit of occupying their minds with something while waiting for sleep to take over during the occasional insomnia episode.
For me it's imsomnia AND hunger. Or maybe hunger-triggered insomnia?
After more than an hour of my fruitless wait for sleep to take over, I already have my menu this weekend and next week planned out.
Sometimes I write it down in my phone.
The longest list I've ever made had about 30 various food items, beginning with 'My favourite food is......' and ending with '.......and many others.'
Among it were Jusco's assam laksa, HuaTuaGuan's lemak laksa, Baker's Cottage's tuna croissant, Portuguese egg tart, Ramli burger from the stall outside my house, my own potato salad and my own concoction of tuna-cheese-sausage pasta.
Recalling that list just made me even hungrier.
Let me try lying down again.
